Christmas/New Years 2005-06 Trip: Day Nine through… the rest
Woah… what? Oh yeah, I forgot to finish updating about my trip. Well… NO LONGER!
So, after Christmas at my mom’s, I headed up to Des Moines to see my dad and stepmom. We had ourselves a merry little Christmas as well! They got me season one of LOST on DVD… a.k.a. television-crack. And I am it’s unashamed pusherman. We sat down to watch Disk One, since they had never watched the show before, and by the end of the disk, they were sufficiently hooked.
After a few days in Des Moines, I pointed myself due east and headed to Iowa City (The I.C. … coming this fall on FOX!) for New Year’s…
New Year’s… or, New Year’s Eve, to be unneccessarily specific… was… crazy/unexpected/awesome/blindsiding/mezmerizing… and stuff like that. One of the best … and most completely out-of-the-blue… things EVER happened on New Year’s Eve… Without getting into specifics, a Happy New Year’s kiss ended up with Duane having to sleep on the couch. All those involved will know how that went down… the rest of you will have to devise your own story. Suffice it to say, I miss someone in I.C. very, very much…

Anyway, after another four awesome days (which included me getting Cory and Shaina hooked on LOST, too… heheh) I went back to Des Moines to get ready to make the drive back to Dallas. I hung out with my dad, saw a couple movies (King Kong, Fun With Dick and Jane… both good), went to Dad’s church for a pancake dinner (where-in I got hit on by funny old ladies) and then on January 7th started on my way back to Dallas.
And… that’s it! Ta-da!
…Oh, and I think Cory should be Locke for Halloween…
