First off: introductions.
My name is James LeMosy. I’m an Interactive Media Designer for Innova Ideas & Services, a design and marketing agency in Ames, Iowa. I’m also an aspiring sequential artist (more on that below) and am self-proclaimed as America’s poster boy for sensible pants.
Okay, so what is this website?
As I said, I’m an aspiring sequential artist – or so says my degree from SCAD. I haven’t been putting that degree to proper use for the past few years, however. This site aims to help me fix that by acting as an online motivational tool of sorts. I’ll draw things and put them online, and you leave me comments and feedback. Mostly, it gives me an excuse to start drawing regularly again, and to start fully developing a story I’ve been brewing in my head for years.
What story?
When I was eight years old, I created a character for a school assignment: a cartoon duck named Drendel who had a heck of a time getting to the skating rink. As years went by, I kept drawing and Drendel kept evolving. He gained a family, grew a bit taller and acquired a signature red sweatshirt – and I began to develop an adventure for them to go on. Now it’s time to make that adventure real, and this site is the springboard. I hope you’ll follow along as I work to bring Drendel’s story to life!
